The Community First! Village is a 27-acre master-planned community made by the charitable organization Mobile Loaves & Fishes that will provide affordable, sustainable housing and a supportive community for the disabled and chronically homeless in Central Texas. Eurway.com and Collectic Home contributed furnishings to help make the houses into homes for future tenants.
The Community First! Village includes an innovative mix of affordable housing options, places for worship, study and fellowship, a memorial garden and columbarium, a community garden featuring fruit and nut bearing trees and vegetables, a chicken operation, bee hives producing fresh honey, aquaponics, a workshop with tool bank and art gallery for micro-enterprise opportunities, a medical facility for physical and mental health screenings and support services including hospice and respite care, walking trails, an outdoor theater and bed and breakfast for mission visits, a CAP metro bus stop, and Wifi.
Here is an example of a home in the Community First! Village. They are quite beautiful, with contemporary forms, materials, and sustainable considerations built into their designs. They are small and affordable, but efficient and functional.
Here is the living room of the unit we recently furnished. Shown are Black Metro Stools, a Lotus Sleeper Sofa, and Clarice Nesting Tables.
Additional furnishings and accessories were provided by the Collectic Home brick and mortar store. The bedroom and bar area came together as shown above.
Eurway.com and Collectic Home love their city and the people that live there. We try to show appreciation by giving back when and where we can to help those who are less fortunate or who have been affected by severe weather events.
