The lamp is pretty hefty and I do like the simple but tasteful look it has. I primarily ordered it because of the three level touch on ability. No stumbling in the dark to turn it on. I did however order a somewhat darker shade to create more ambience lighting. The off white shade it came with created a less appealing effect hence using it in the bedroom. Overall a great buy!!!
