I bought this as a side table on either side of my a couch/sofa-bed, where the room was limited. There was always a need for something there to put down a book or a pair of glasses which ended up on the floor before. It is an ideal fit, and it looks very contemporary. I can also use it as an extra stool if I have company over and run out of room to sit.
